Trillium Law serves business, professional and individual clients from the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area as well as other parts of Ontario. We have extensive experience with both large and complex files as well as smaller personal matters. Where needed, in consultation with our clients, we have an extensive roster of other professionals we are able to engage to ensure that our clients’ interests are well advanced and protected.

Paul Tut is a family law/child protection lawyer based in downtown Hamilton. He formerly acted as in-house counsel to a Children's Aid Society and Crown Counsel to the Ministry of the Attorney General for Ontario. He represents clients at all levels of court in Ontario and before the Child and Family Services Review Board.

He acts for:

individuals who are moving in together, marrying, or separating from their partners; and

parents or caregivers who are involved in litigation against the Children's Aid Society.

An opportunity to ask your questions and canvas your options. Sometimes, a consultation is all you need. The first 30 minutes are free.

Agreement Drafting and Independent Legal Advice

Paul drafts cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts (“pre-nups”), separation agreements, and parenting plans. Sometimes, clients already have a written agreement and one spouse just needs to get independent legal advice to finalize it. These services are billed at Paul's regular hourly rate + HST.

Written Opinions

For those who want an opinion on a discrete legal issue, such as the viability of a potential appeal. A flat fee is available for this service, or clients have the option to pay Paul’s regular hourly rate + HST.

Full Representation

The most common option, for clients who do not wish to be self-represented but rather seek a lawyer of record to handle all legal issues arising in their case. This service is billed at Paul’s regular hourly rate + HST.

Assistance For Self-Represented Litigants

For clients who want to significantly reduce their overall legal fees by representing themselves and attending most or all of their own court appearances without a lawyer, but who want some guidance from a lawyer along the way. This service is billed at Paul’s regular hourly rate + HST.

Notarization and Certification Service

We offer our clients efficient and comprehensive document notarization services. If you need a Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths, we can help. Our services include the following documents and processes:

Commission of Oaths (Commissioner of Oaths)

Administering of Oaths by a Commissioner of Oaths.

Affidavits

Any Affidavit required by Law.
For the purpose of obtaining a visitor's visa to Canada.

Statutory Declarations

Statutory Declaration Confirming Identity.

Statutory Declaration regarding Ownership of Property.
